I'm running ClamXav Sentry as 'launch agent' with ClamAV antivirus scanning engine of my own custom build. I've tested for building ClamAV (from version 0.90.x to version 0.103.x) on Mac OS X 10.4 through macOS 11.0 Big Sur. I'm running the latest stable release ClamAV 0.103.0 on macOS 11.0 Big Sur now. ClamAV 0.103.0 is available on the Download page of ClamavNet, and the release note is here! ClamTk is a GUI front-end for ClamAV using gtk2-perl. It is designed to be an easy-to-use, on-demand scanner for Linux systems. ClamTk has been ported to Fedora, Debian, RedHat, openSUSE, ALT Linux, Ubuntu, CentOS, Gentoo, Archlinux, Mandriva, PCLinuxOS, FreeBSD, and others. To support ClamXav which is a GUI front end of ClamAV on Mac OS X, ClamXav Helper has following functions. ClamXav Helper starts ClamXav Sentry when any user logs in. All users need not put ClamXav Sentry in the startup items. ClamXav Helper restarts ClamXav Sentry immediately even if it ends by crash etc. While logging on. ClamTk is an open source desktop application that provides users with a graphical front-end for the well known Clam AntiVirus virus scanner application that runs on Linux-based operating systems. Getting started with ClamTk. Its user interface is divided in four sections, Configuration, History, Updates.

I'm currently working in Malawi, Africa - I am the only mac user in an office (strangely makes me want a PC for the first time in years! must be the heat), but with so many PC viruses its pain full to watch them all (actually I'm glad i have a mac). none of these effect my machine although it can harbour them. however, i am using Office for Mac 2004 and have been sharing data with collogues. after one particular occasion i started up excel and the tool bars had disappeared and what's more i started to get an error message saying 'no more fonts can be used in this workbook' or something to that effect and the Excel GUI graphics started to disappear, although the window remains and none of the other applications are effected; in short every thing apart from excel is ok? when oppened i am asked if i would like to disable macros - but i haven't placed any in the workbook, so i'm presuming its a macro virus?
ClamAV cant detect it and i don't know how many of my workbooks are infected?
is there any thing i can do to search out which are infected and possibly clean them, or is the data lost, or is it something else entirely?
thanks
