Rab’s Fjera is based on tradition started 21st of July 1364, when the City Council of Rab decided to celebrate and honor King Louis the Great who freed them from the Venetian rule, as well as holiday honoring St. Christopher, patron saint of the town of Rab. Once a long time fjera lasted for 14 days, but today is held within the walls of the old town from 25th to 27th of July. The renewed ceremony of Rab's fjera lasts for three days: July 25 (St. James's Day), July 26 (St. Anne's Day) and July 27 (St. Christopher's Feast).
